Smith Wigglesworth (1859-1947) was a British Pentecostal evangelist and faith healer whose ministry became influential within early twentieth-century revival movements. Born into poverty in Yorkshire, he received little formal education and worked in manual trades before becoming active in evangelical ministry.Wigglesworth was closely associated with the rise of the Pentecostal movement following the Azusa Street Revival. His preaching emphasized divine healing, the authority of Scripture, and what he described as unwavering faith in the power of the Holy Spirit. Reports of healing services and revival meetings brought him international attention, and he traveled extensively throughout Britain, the United States, and other parts of the world.Though a controversial figure in some theological circles, Wigglesworth's sermons and devotional writings continue to circulate widely within Pentecostal and charismatic Christian communities. His legacy remains tied to early revivalism and the development of modern faith-healing movements.
