The Abstractiones is of great historical interest because it gives a window onto how generations of British scholars learned a uniform approach to logic and reasoning from basics up to more sophisticated strategies in modal logic and quantification. It gives a systematic introduction to the techniques and terminology found in medieval philosophy. It is good to see this text in print at last. It plugs a lacuna in access to an important text for those unable to consult the manuscripts themselves.
