Laurence found her love for cooking at a young age. After graduating from the New England Culinary Institute, she first honed her chef skills in two Michelin-rated restaurants in Les-Baux-de-Provence, France and the renowned Zuni Cafe in San Francisco. Her passion for teaching about food and cooking led her to accept a teaching position at the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont, where she instructed professional culinary students during the day and home cooks in the evenings.
