Texas Ranger Clay Brentwood receives a deserate telegram from his good friend Loralie Benson in Tennessee, who is having trouble at her ranch with horse thieves. Never one to ignore a friend in need, Clay sets out to come to Loralie's aid only to find himself up against an old enemy determined to destroy them both. But horse thieves are not the only thing on Clay's mind; once they are taken care of he hopes to propose to Loralie and get her agreement to move with him down to Texas, which may be harder than dealing with a few stolen horses.
