When a mysterious creature begins to butcher their cattle with laser-like precision, father and son Tom and Jason Cloud are forced to defend their isolated northern Arizona ranch, their friends, and their way of life. The looming cliffs above their Four Corners ranch are apparently harboring more than big-horn sheep and cougars. Jason's university professor, renowned forensic archaeologist Anna Thompson, is stumped by the evidence, but the mysterious sphere that pays a midnight visit leaves Jason convinced that they are dealing with something more than a new species of animal. The modern west will never be the same.
