I was born in London, England and immigrated to Canada with my parents when I was seventeen. I attended Trinity College at the University of Toronto, and emerged with a degree in French and English. I became a secretary for a large corporation and met my future husband, Ed, not long after that. In 1980, we moved to Alberta, where he set up a chiropractic office, and we raised a family in Okotoks. Inspired by our daughter, Amy, we got involved in amateur theatre and still pursue it as a hobby. I have worked in many administrative jobs, but have always wanted to write. We continue to live in Okotoks, and enjoy theatre, music and travel.
