Eric Bogatin is a physicist, writer and educator. After receiving his BS in Physics from MIT he went on to finish an MS and PhD also in physics from the University of Arizona, in Tucson, specializing in cosmology, lasers and quantum optics. For the last 35 years, he has focused on signal integrity, a specialized field in electrical engineering related to how signals interact in interconnects. It's basically applied Maxwell's Equations. In this field he has written seven technical books and lectures around the world. He is also on the adjunct faculty at the University of Colorado, Boulder where he teaches graduate classes in electrical engineering. This is his first science fiction book, but won't be his last. Lori DeBoer (www.LoriDeboer.net) is the founder of the Boulder Writers' Workshop and works as an independent writing teacher and coach. She has had more than a thousand articles and essays published in newspapers, magazines and literary journals, including The Bellevue Literary Review, The New York Times, Arizona Highways, Pithead Chapel, Working Woman, America West Airlines Magazine, Black Enterprise, Gloom Cupboard, PHOENIX Magazine and more. One of her stories was top-25 finalist for a Glimmer Train Fiction Open Contest and another was shortlisted for the Bellevue Literary Prize, judged by Jane Smiley. She also works as a writing coach. She lives with her husband Michael and son Max in Boulder, Colorado, where they own and operate The French Twist Food Truck.
