This "CI Memo" is designed to familiarize parents of implanted patients with the operation of the Med-El cochlear implant system and also of answering questions from parents of implanted patients about cochlear implantation and explaining their complicity in the process of fitting the speech processor. It also describes the goals and actions of the audiologist during the first connection and during subsequent fittings of the speech processor. The "Memo" is written on the basis of 15 years of experience with more than one thousand implanted patients and their parents with the aim that parents, audiologists and teachers, after reading the "Memo", began to better understand each other and the problem of cochlear implantation in general. On the topic of "Memo," the authors have published articles, inventions, and presentations. The co-author of the "Memo" has a medal from the Ministry of Education for the high scientific quality of the master's thesis. To confirm the validity of the "Memo" to a doubting employees, all its provisions, arguments and conclusions are supported by articles and patents (see the list below).
