Environmental Education in Mexico still has a long way to go, and although we have had multiple attempts and projects undertaken, the reality is much more complex than it seems, there are so many fronts to attend to that the market is confused about what to give priority to as the needs and urgencies arise: environmental regulations and legislation, education and training programs for pollution prevention, environmental conservation, resource management, waste management, among others.It is the task of each one of us to cultivate a reflexive thought of practical character for the social benefit in any level, work areas or disciplines and to apply it in the scope of our own possibilities.The purpose of this proposal is to provide a guide for the creation of education and labor training programs for workers in the construction industry, under the structure of a professionalizing labor competence standard, thus seeking to contribute with a change in the conceptualization of building and its relationship with the environment, in an effort to improve and promote sustainable practices in the industry.
