Angelo Basile, a Chemical Engineer, is a senior Researcher at the ITM-CNR where is responsible of the research related to both the ultra-pure hydrogen production and CO2 capture using Pd-based Membrane Reactors. Basile is also Editor associate of the Int. J. Hydrogen Energy and Editor-in-chief of the Int. J. Membrane Science & Technol. and Editor-in-chief of Membrane Processes (Applications), a section of the international journal Membranes: Basile also prepared 42 special issues on membrane science and technology for many international journals (IJHE, Chem Eng. J., Cat. Today, etc.). He participated to and was/is responsible of many national and international projects on membrane reactors and membrane science. Basile served as Director of the ITM-CNR during the period Dec. 2008 - May 2009. In the last years, he was tutor of 30 Thesis for master and Ph.D. students at the Chemical Engineering Department of the University of Calabria (Italy). From 2014, Basile is Full Professor of Chemical Engineering Processes. Didem Saloglu, a Chemical Engineer, is an Assoc. Prof. Dr. at Istanbul Technical University and Vice Director of Disaster Management Institute. She has a long experience in the field of general chemical engineering, adsorption, extraction, purification, biotechnology, composite materials, industrial pollution, explosion, emissions, wastewater treatment, and microwave assisted extraction. Dr. Saloglu has more than 35 scientific contributions as international peer reviewed articles, with a total 186 citations. She has 8 scientific papers in national peer reviewed articles, 2 international and 4 national book chapters, and 58 papers in national and international congresses. She is a reviewer for 45 national and international journals. Dr. Saloglu is also editor of the Water Science and Technology. She is involved as scientific responsible or main investigator in different national projects with The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, Scientific Research Projects Units of Universities, and private companies and also international projects funded by European Union. Alfredo Cassano has worked as a Researcher at CNR-ITM in Italy since 2000. Trained in Biology, he specializes in membrane science and technology, including conventional membrane processes, membrane contactors, and integrated membrane operations used for wastewater treatment and agro-food applications. He has led or directed research through numerous national MIUR-funded projects, as well as European Union international projects and industry collaborations. Cassano contributes to the scientific community through editorial-board roles and has co-authored several books, numerous journal articles, and chapters, alongside conference and invited work, and two national patents. His interests include recovering bioactive compounds from by-products, membrane distillation, osmotic distillation, and wastewater remediation, motivated by bridging membrane technology with practical AI/ML and real-time monitoring to advance circular economy resource recovery. |
