More in-depth discussions are essential on adapting and updating the content of textbooks, with the participation of those who actually use this material, namely teachers. They should be trained in advance to develop this skill, so that they can promote food as a strategy for improving health. I believe that greater importance should be given to the training and capacity building of teachers in relation to Food and Nutrition Education, as well as providing them with increasing access to work that evaluates and presents criteria for analysing textbooks, so that teachers can choose basic materials that are tailored to their needs and classroom working procedures.
