Walking by faith and not by sight provides strength beyond our own capabilities. The physical and mental scars that cancer leaves in its wake provides an opportunity for real conversations. Scars represent what you have been through and what you have overcome. They are more than attention getters, shedding light to more than what is seen physically. My hope is to provide personal insight to the collective of how faith can help you traverse a precarious and sometimes lonely journey: See yourself as more than a survivor and shape your own narrative. Choose to be strong and positive while being sensitive to the needs of others. Advocate for those who don't know how to navigate this new found reality of life and be open to accept help as you give it, which can be very therapeutic for both parties. Reassure those in the fight that life is more than a diagnosis and to never stop living and loving yourself. It is my sincere prayer and profound hope that as you journal your therapeutic experiences you will always remember your why!
