Katharina Balmer was born and raised in Grindelwald. Although she moved to Bern for her education at an early age, she is still strongly rooted in the Jungfrau region. She studied psychology, history and philosophy and already at this time, was interested in the history of tourism, especially with the development of tourism in the Bernese Oberland. After graduation, psychology was increasingly central in her professional development. For several years, she worked as a research associate at the University of Bern, before becoming self-employed. Today she lives and works in Bern, where she practice as a psychologist. In her free time, she is often underway with a camera, as she explores the Jungfrau region on foot. She is married and has a grown son. |
